吳冠德

Wu Kuan Te

Born in Taipei, Taiwan in 1979. Graduated from the Department of Fine Arts of National Kaohsiung Normal University, and obtained a master's degree from the Institute of Fine Arts of National Taiwan Normal University. Served as a teacher and director of the special education department of Xinzhuang High School, secretary-general and executive director of the Chinese Asia-Pacific Watercolor Art Association, and editor of high school art textbooks approved by the Ministry of Education. In 2011, he left his teaching position and lived in France to create art full-time. After returning to Taiwan, he established the "Common People's Art Museum" to promote art and culture.

The works are full of physical practice and profound oriental philosophy. They are derived from rich natural experiences and present natural, peaceful, vast and quiet images. Through the ritual of meditation on the blank canvas and the scratching of branches and stones, the natural life is allowed to grow and spread on the canvas. The creative process is like exploring the unknown mind and constructing a spiritual field.
